A World Without Art Cant Exist
This film depicts a world dealing with the atrocities of war in a futuristic narrative. It follows the man known as the cleric, one of the leading justice figure heads in a society that deems the reason for war or social uproar being art and emotion. The cleric is somewhat emblematic of the social structure that we live in nowadays, being one that is vastly controlled by religious opinions and ideas of ethical perfection or goals to live in a utopian dream land while completely destroying the world that we see everyday. The film explores how he enforces a system then finds himself struck between not having the slightest care for others art or expression and his own challenges as the same system he defends targets him personally. This ironically awakens all his senses and shows that even within the perfect system of governance or control there will always be an underlying balance, in that there will be some things that we as humans have no control over but definitely assist in. This balance that stretches far throughout the universe, inside and through us is what binds us together on a deeper level and enables creative forms of expression. Bringing this back home, we have all seen the effects of extremist religious dogmas and how they have on countless occasions destroyed and provoked the arts, even causing some natural born artists to become extremely fearful of creating their art without persecution. Taking the time to make art or express oneself, recognizing ones life as art itself, breaking self imposed mental boundaries is the creative freedom that allows for the expressive artistic mind to thrive. This right should be upheld for any utopian dream to exist and serve many not few.
